Don't be a Cupcake

Today was fine.  Today was peachy.  I did a lot of laundry, a tiny bit of picking up, some reading, and some agonizing over fabrics for the Supernova quilt that I may or may not still want to make.  I don't trust myself at all picking out fabrics to go together for projects like this.  The girls spent most of the day at their friends'.  A went to swimming lessons this morning and I got threated to a McD's Vanilla Latte--yes, I have successfully weaned myself off of Starbucks lattes to save myself $1/day for lattes and more if I get an iced coffee.  Z stayed in his room reading one of the Last Olympians books for the xx time.  C finally came home and M and her had their discussion about her activities and how her running around 24-7 affects the family time we rarely get to have, like last night.  Tears flowed and she stormed off with a slam of the door with a "I can't do anything right!"  (Word to the wise...with the exception of getting hanged up on, slamming doors is the next worst thing you can do to him.)

We ended up having a very nice family dinner tonight.  M had repaired the grill and got it ready for the season at my request.  Even though it was a little colder than he likes for grilling, we had petite sirloins with roasted red potatoes and asparagus.  M even opened a bottle of my favorite red wine, the only one I've learned to like, Cupcake Red Velvet.

We're now watching Megamind on On Demand as a family.  I don't know how willingly C is here, but at least she's here.
